# Choose Your Table Columns

Decide which columns the Applications list shows you, in what order and at what width. The layout is yours alone and follows you from one machine to the next.

## Before you start

* Any Boza user can do this. The layout is personal, so changing it never changes what your colleagues see.
* Nothing needs saving. Every change applies as you make it.

## Steps

1. Open **Applications**. Above the table, next to **Filter**, click **Columns**.
2. Tick a column under **Hidden** to show it, or untick one under **Shown** to hide it. When the list gets long, type in **Find a column** to narrow it.
3. Reorder with the drag handle to the left of a column, or with the up and down arrows.
4. Close the panel. To change a width, drag the edge of a column header. To size a column to its content, double-click that edge.

## Expected result

* The table shows your columns, in your order, at your widths.
* The **Columns** button carries a dot while your layout differs from the default, and the panel footer counts what is shown, for example **8 of 24 shown**.
* The same layout is waiting for you on another browser or machine, because it is saved to your account rather than to this browser.

## Good to know

* **Name** is always the first column and **Action** always the last. Both stay visible, so a row always starts with the application and ends with its menu.
* Custom fields your workspace defined appear in their own **Custom fields** section of the panel and behave like any other column.
* **Reset to default** returns to the columns and order Boza ships with. It affects only your own layout.
* A column you hid is not lost: the data is still there, and ticking the column brings it straight back.
* If a custom field is deleted, it simply stops appearing; the rest of your layout is untouched.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://boza.gitbook.io/docs/tutorials/choose-your-table-columns.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
